As a leading global supplier of drive and control technologies, Bosch Rexroth ensures efficient, powerful and safe motion in machines and systems of all types and sizes. The company bundles worldwide application experience in the market segments of mobile applications, plant construction and engineering, and factory automation. With intelligent components, tailor-made system solutions and services, Bosch Rexroth creates the conditions for fully networkable applications. Bosch Rexroth offers its customers hydraulics, electric drive and control technology, gear technology, linear and assembly technology, including software and interfaces to the Internet of Things.

Bosch Rexroth collaborated in the ETA Factory research project. The aim of the research project was to set up a model factory that combines various interdisciplinary approaches to reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions in industrial production. In addition, Bosch Rexroth participated in the FOREnergy joint project funded by the Bavarian Research Foundation with the aim of researching concepts and solutions for the energy-flexible factory.

The above-mentioned research activities provide a good foundation for the further development of practical solutions to increase energy efficiency at the factory level and will be continued in the same direction with the DC-INDUSTRIE joint project. One of Bosch Rexroth's focal points in the project is the development of systematic project planning and system design for robust and interoperable DC grids. The energy flows in the DC grid are to be analysed and the control of machines in the network is to be developed to optimise energy utilisation through direct acceptance of released energy (energy control). Particular attention is paid in the project to the connection and design of energy storage in the DC grid as well as to grid and energy management, which ensure stable and energy-efficient operating behaviour.
