With more than 47 years of know-how, KEBA Industrial Automation Germany GmbH (formerly LTI Motion GmbH) develops, produces and sells high-quality automation solutions for demanding applications in mechanical engineering.

For automation technology, KEBA Industrial Automation Germany has an extensive, well-coordinated product portfolio consisting of:

  • the SystemOne CM automation system for complete automation solutions
  • Control components from the high-end CNC to the standard IEC control and extensive safety controls
  • the ServoOne high-end servo system in single and multi-axis versions
  • Highly dynamic servo motors in rotary/linear design
  • Products and system solutions for high-speed applications based on magnetic bearing technology and HF drives.

KEBA Industrial Automation has many years of experience in the field of power electronics and control technology for closed-loop drives, in particular also for ZK-coupled multi-axis systems. Through close cooperation with universities and active participation in (partly publicly funded) joint projects, the foundations for subsequent product developments are continuously being laid. Research into new power electronic system concepts for energy-efficient drives, especially for high-speed drives, was the focus of the BMBF research project HomaLes. In the RoBE joint project, the focus was on improving the system reliability of power electronic components and systems.

In the DC-INDUSTRIE project, LTI Motion developed a feed-in device for the DC grid that is operated with the characteristic control according to the system concept. This enables simple integration and parallel operation of several feed-in units and energy storage units. The feed-in unit was tested together with the DC-INDUSTRIE-compliant servo axes in a model system.

In the DC-INDUSTRIE2 project, KEBA Industrial Automation will further develop the efficient supply devices and research solutions for short-term energy storage and robust drive components. The characteristic curve procedure for grid management introduced in DC-INDUSTRIE is to be optimised in order to improve the parallel operation of several supply devices and storage units. The use cases here are the reduction of peak power from the AC grid and grid failure support by energy storage devices.

The knowledge gained will be incorporated into prototypes that will be investigated within the framework of the model plants and transfer centres.
