The idea for Gerotor is based on the KERS technology used in Formula 1. Gerotor GmbH, founded in 2015, took up the technology for the recovery of kinetic energy and optimised it in development partnership with Fraunhofer institutes and others for the recuperation of braking energy in industrial applications. Gerotor is involved in various leading German research networks such as STEFF-Controll and DC-Industry 2 with the multi-award-winning Gerotor HPS® flywheel mass storage system. The accumulator is suitable for peak load management as well as for the reduction of power consumption and CO2 emissions during the operation of plants in the processing industry, crane and lift systems as well as (factory) grid applications. Gerotor's customers include medium-sized production companies and world market leaders in mechanical and plant engineering.
